1 Pint Plain Pewter Tankard With Glass Bottom
Availability: In Stock
Ships same day with engraving if ordered by 1pm
Product Description
The history of having glass in the bottom of a tankard dates back to the press gangs trying to dupe men into joining the Navy. The glass bottom was introduced by pubs to reassure drinkers that no one could slip a ‘King’s shilling’ into their ale. Nowadays that risk does not exist but the tradition has lasted.
It does offer a talking point, of course, if you need a conversation opener, but it could also just be a way to enjoy a beer in a good looking tankard.
If you want to make this a collector’s item and it’s intended to lie on a glass shelf, then choose your message and have it engraved on the outside of the tankard. As this tankard is nice and plain, you could have your message on the front or the back.
And as you can see from the customer comments, we still manage to get your tankard out really quickly, with or without engraving. Why delay? Order today, drink tomorrow…well if you order before 1pm today!
